Water.
I
used to llloooovvee ice water. I
couldn’t get enough of it.
Definitely my drink of choice and good for me to boot! Okay, I admit, it
was right up there with coffee. My
two drink loves.
But,
my water had to be ice cold. In fact, it had to have ice
in it. Lots of ice. There must be
ice!
I loved to guzzle and gulp down huge
glasses of ice water.
I
also must drink only filtered water.
We have a purifier on our sink and I have a purifying pitcher at
work. I cannot handle tap water. (I don’t like it’s flavor!)
So,
before the surgery, they stress to you that you cannot gulp or guzzle a drink any more. Sigh.
Okay
then, I will sip my ice water. They stress that you cannot drink soda
any more. No problem, I thought, I
absolutely LOVE ice water and much prefer it over any carbonated beverage.
But
you know what? After my surgery, I
lost my love of ice water.
I
want flavor now.
It doesn’t matter if it is tea, coffee
or sugar free drink mixes~
I. Want.
Flavor.
Don’t misunderstand-
I
still drink ice water. It is the best for my body, keeps me
hydrated, and is calorie-free. But
I just don’t love it anymore.
Did
your taste buds change post surgery?
I don’t crave soda, but I do crave flavor. And, I know this is weird, but I miss my love of ice water.
I miss gulping down the icy waves and feeling it flow down to my
legs.
How
does it move that fast?
Does
it move that fast?
Is it just nerve endings in anticipation
of the cold? I have always
wanted to ask a scientist that question.
How
about you?
Do
you find this, too?
Did you crave soda and now crave ice water? Do you miss your soda?
What do you want to drink?
